Shortly after a child has been enrolled into our sports programme, an assessment of the child’s family is completed. Our Social Worker’s who often live in the same community as the family in need will assess their living conditions and source of income, if any.
They will interview the parent (or other caregiver), as well as all of the children in the family who live under the same roof and share meals together. Once the family’s need has been identified, our social worker’s will then discuss the options and identify a sustainable source of income.
We often offer small business grants or agriculture seeds, so families in the rural communities can plant vegetables, which they can sell to generate income of their own; or to boost an existing business, so they can use the profits to help educate their children and put food on the table for their children.
