Street Sports Hope provides a child-friendly environment for children to play, learn and have access to a responsible adult to talk to about any issues affecting them. Our after School club runs 3 times a week outside school hours. Through a range of sporting activities, such as football, athletics and team building/field based games, the children – our beneficiaries will learn basic skills in a sporting and friendly environment.
Most children in Sierra Leone live in extreme poverty and don’t have time to play before or after school, as they often have part or full-time jobs as street traders selling, in most cases, home prepared food for up to 8 hours a day.
Our Sports programme gives children a chance to be part of and enjoy recreational activities, as well as giving then the opportunity to learn new skills and receive extra tuition.
